For Jonathon and Lisa, taking on a half marathon on Sunday was a heartfelt tribute to their father and father-in-law, Ian Bright, who attended Revive MS Support for many years – and they braved the icy -3°C temperatures to do it!

Their effort raised an over £1000 to support people living with MS and their families.

Jonathon shared why Revive meant so much to his dad:

Revive MS Support is a place that meant the world to my Dad. He attended once a week, and it genuinely gave him a purpose. MS hit my Dad hard. He became reclusive and embarrassed by his condition, and slowly stopped socialising with friends because he couldn’t do the things many of us take for granted.

Revive changed that. He looked forward to his day there every week. He never felt judged or embarrassed, and he was able to relax, laugh, and enjoy himself among people who truly understood what he was going through.

Revive gave him dignity, connection, and something positive to focus on.

By running the half marathon together, Lisa and Jonathon wanted to honour Ian’s memory while giving back to a charity that had such a profound impact on his life. Their story will resonate with many in the Revive community, especially those who knew Ian and shared time with him at the centre.

Every little helps. If you’re able to donate – whether you know me personally or MS has touched your life in some way – it would mean more than I can put into words.

We are incredibly grateful to Lisa and Jonathon for their determination, generosity and for choosing to remember Ian in such a meaningful way.
