Living with MS can bring a whole host of challenges – physical, emotional, social. At Revive, we understand that managing stress, worry and uncertainty can be just as important as managing physical symptoms.

What is Mindfulness?

Mindfulness is not about emptying your mind or pretending to feel calm. It’s about paying attention to what’s really going on in the present moment, with kindness and without judgement. Over time, it can help you respond to life’s ups and downs in a more balanced, thoughtful way.

You might hear mindfulness described as:

Mindfulness practices are a form of mental training. Just like physical exercise shapes your body, mindfulness can change how your brain responds to stress.

Regular practice is linked to changes in areas of the brain responsible for mood regulation.

What are the benefits?

I cannot speak highly enough of mindfulness and how I have learned through Karen’s class to notice mood changes or stressful situations coming over me. When I started coming to Revive I wasn’t open to trying new things. Now mindfulness is part of my daily life. Revive is my safe space where I can relax and enjoy people’s company, and I look forward to attending every Monday morning.
