Art Therapy is an element of our 1:1 counselling service. Our Art Therapist, Kate Wemyss uses drawing, painting and other art forms to help people express thoughts, feelings and experiences which may be difficult to put into words.
What is Art Therapy?
Art Therapy uses art as a medium to address emotional issues which may be confusing and distressing and helps people to express thoughts, feelings and experiences which may be difficult to express. It offers a different way of communicating thoughts and feelings through art, using art materials such as clay, sand, paint, chalk, pencils, charcoal, crayons, pens, collage, oil pastels etc.
Being good at art is not required!
Art therapy acts as a connection to our subconscious and can enlighten us as to what is happening for us. Our Therapist will work towards trying to understand current concerns, worries or difficulties and will help you to move forward in a positive way.

“The chance to make drawings acted as a useful distraction for me. Kate managed to make me feel at ease raising issues I usually find hard to verbalise”

Online Sessions
We now also offer online Art Therapy sessions, which may suit people better than attending the Revive centre. These online sessions will provide a creative and therapeutic space from the comfort of your own home.
Please note that for online sessions, participants will need to have their own art supplies on hand, as we are unable to provide these remotely.
