Living with MS can bring a whole host of challenges – physical, emotional, social. At Revive, we understand that managing stress, worry and uncertainty can be just as important as managing physical symptoms.

What is Mindfulness?
Mindfulness is not about emptying your mind or pretending to feel calm. It’s about paying attention to what’s really going on in the present moment, with kindness and without judgement. Over time, it can help you respond to life’s ups and downs in a more balanced, thoughtful way.
You might hear mindfulness described as:
- Paying attention – learning to focus on what you choose
- Being present – staying with what’s happening right now, not caught up in the past or future
- Responding, not reacting – noticing your experience without being swept away by it
- Letting go of judgement – learning to see things as they are
- Open hearted – meeting yourself and your experience with compassion, curiosity and acceptance to your experience
Mindfulness practices are a form of mental training. Just like physical exercise shapes your body, mindfulness can change how your brain responds to stress.
Regular practice is linked to changes in areas of the brain responsible for mood regulation.
What are the benefits?
- Reduced medical symptoms and stress
- Increased self awareness and self efficacy
- Improved concentration and productivity
- Greater self-awareness and confidence
- A stronger sense of wellbeing
