Last year, Julie set herself a personal challenge- 12 weeks sober to Christmas – and turned it into something that’s made a real difference for people living with MS. By the end of her challenge, she’d raised an incredible £1,286.25 for Revive MS Support.
Julie’s husband John has been coming to Revive for over 15 years, and the support he receives has been a constant for him and their family.

“I decided to do this as I’ve done Sober October for Revive before, about five years ago. It was a benefit for me too and when you’re sponsored, there’s a bit of pressure that keeps you going!”
John, who lives with Secondary Progressive MS regularly attends circuits at Revive every Tuesday, uses the oxygen chamber, and accesses complementary therapies.
“Revive is where John’s built relationships, and going there is something he genuinely looks forward to every wee.,”
“He doesn’t get out as often now apart from Revive, so it’s huge for his mindset and his mood and exercise really helps with that too.”
Julie’s 12 weeks sober weren’t quiet ones either. They included her son’s wedding celebration, and plenty of social and Christmas party events.
“When I saw the donations coming in, I was honestly overwhelmed! Everyone backing me made it completely worth it.”
“I already donate to Revive through my monthly direct debit, but taking on a bigger challenge felt especially meaningful. It feels amazing knowing I’m putting into something that gives so much back to us. John benefits from Revive right now and giving back in this way just feels really good.”

We’re so grateful to Julie for taking on this challenge and turning something personal into support that will make a real difference for people living with MS.
