Revive MS Support is delighted to announce the appointment of Niall Sommerville as Chair to the Board of Trustees.

Niall brings extensive expertise and experience to the role, having served on the Board since 2019, during which time he helped the charity navigate the challenges of the Covid pandemic and its subsequent growth. A seasoned public affairs and communications professional, Niall currently works as Public Affairs Manager for Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland at the Royal Society of Chemistry.

His background includes senior roles across the third sector and politics, with a particular focus on neurological conditions. Prior to his current post, Niall was Head of Communications and External Relations at the MS Society, where he played a key role in advancing access to new MS treatments, supporting the development of Scotland’s National Action Plan for Neurological Care, and launching the MS Society’s first dedicated Scotland strategy. He also served on the board of the Neurological Alliance of Scotland.

Speaking about his appointment, Niall said:

“I am delighted to be taking on the role of Chair at this important time for Revive MS Support. Having been a member of the board for the past 6 years, I have seen first-hand how the organisation has continued to develop, innovate and grow.

The work done by the staff team and volunteers at Revive is truly life changing for people affected by MS. It’s a privilege to be involved with the charity, and I look forward to continuing to work alongside colleagues on the Board to support the team and clients wherever possible.”

We are excited to welcome Niall as Chair and are confident his leadership will help us expand our reach and deepen our impact for those living with MS in Scotland.
